50,000 Photos Donated
In a welcomed move, the State Library of Queensland has donated 50,000 photos to Wikimedia Commons. In case you didn't know Wikimedia is a free repository of image & sound files which can be used anywhere on the web. A direct link to the Queensland State Library archive can be found here and one to the German Federal Archive can be found here.
